The FSA ID, or Federal Student Aid ID, is a username and password combination that gives users access to various U.S. Department of Education websites and online resources. FSA IDs are used to apply for federal student aid, such as grants, loans, and work-study programs. Parents of students who are applying for federal student aid may need to create an FSA ID in order to view their child’s FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) information.
To view their child’s FAFSA information, parents will need to create an FSA ID and then log in to the Federal Student Aid website. Once logged in, parents can click on the “View My Child’s FAFSA” link. Parents will then be prompted to enter their child’s FSA ID and date of birth. Once the information is entered, parents will be able to view their child’s FAFSA information, including the amount of aid they have been awarded.
